Yesterday brought us the first trailer and new title for the fourth installment of James Wan’s incredible Insidious series. Officially titled Insidious: The Last Key, the film, written by series co-creator Leigh Whannell, will continue to follow Lin Shaye’s Dr. Elise Rainier as she explores The Further and the demons that reside there.
While initially slated for an October release, our first glimpse of the film reveals a new date of early 2018. This push is most likely due to the October 13 release date of Happy Death Day, another horror film from Universal. Check out the official trailer and synopsis below.
The creative minds behind the hit Insidious trilogy return for Insidious: The Last Key. In the supernatural thriller, which welcomes back franchise standout Lin Shaye as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home.
Insidious: The Last Key is directed by Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan) and will be released on January 5, 2018.
