Stephen King’s Multiverse Comes To Life In The First Trailer For Hulu’s Castle Rock

The year of Stephen King continued yesterday with the first official trailer for Hulu’s upcoming original series, Castle Rock. The clip, which premiered at New York Comic Con, gives us flashes into the fictional town and the bevy of King characters that reside there. While Stephen King has been writing stories around the town of Castle Rock for decades, this series promises an exciting opportunity to bring them all together for the first time.

Produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, the trailer gives us glimpses of King adaptation alumni Sissy Spacek (Carrie) and Bill Skarsgård (IT). As a “Constant Reader”, I’m excited for the series, but I wonder if those unfamiliar with King’s work will have the same enthusiasm. Check out the first official trailer below.

Combining the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.

Castle Rock will be released exclusively on Hulu in 2018.
